About

Details

One of the first totems to be “commissioned”, Layla is at home in the entryway of a good friend. Layla’s flowing form has a somewhat art deco theme to it. The simple spire is suggestive of a modern skyscraper. However, as the totem flows towards the base, its path is redirected by a circular cut. Along the way, a duet of square cutouts is repeated twice to tie the form together.

With a simple flowing form, the beauty of the redwood plays an important roll. The finish is a simple clear coat for protection.
